Safeguarding During A Pandemic

For all early years leaders, safeguarding the children in their care is of the upmost priority. It is embedded into our practices, training and procedures from recruitment through to exit interviews and everything in between. However, there is evidence that the ‘normal’ safeguards we rely on to protect children have been reduced during the pandemic. This bundle aims to support leaders in ensuring they have everything covered in terms of safeguarding, particularly during these difficult times.

Addendum to Safeguarding Policy

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented a huge challenge to the early years sector with increased pressure on safeguarding children. This sample addendum to policy will help you as a setting leader to identify further processes you may want to put in place to support children and families during these difficult times. As a completely editable word document, you can edit this sample to make it fit for purpose for your setting.

County Lines Leader Guide

County lines are criminal networks, between country and urban locations, exploiting children and young people. This form of exploitation has devastating effects on each individual’s life, their families and their community. Children as young as 7 years of age are groomed, pressured and coerced into trafficking drugs, often between urban and rural sites. In this leaders guide, we identify how children in the early years may be affected by County  Lines and offer examples of early warning signs as well as thoughts on what you as a leader can do to support children and families.
